Julie Marinucci, Creative Dance Coordinator & Instructor
Miss Marinucci is so grateful to become a part of the beautiful, compassionate and talented family that is Momentum! She hails from her hometown of Philadelphia, PA and is loving exploring nature in the PNW throughout Burien, West Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula where her family goes for a relaxing weekend. Miss Marinucci began dancing at age 3 when her mother introduced her and her cousin to Pre-Comb (Ballet/Tap/Jazz), the rest was history. Being the first grandchild and niece into a large Irish/Italian family, the stage was a natural place to start her career as a performer. She continued to dance competitively throughout high school, showing off that Philly charm in Hip Hop groups and alongside her duet partner. While obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Montclair State University, her passion grew for Horton and Limon techniques which continue to inform her contemporary choreography today.
Since graduating in 2012, she’s been teaching young artists in the surrounding Philadelphia community ranging from creative ages through high school seniors. After completing a Masters in Dance/Movement Therapy, Miss Marinucci joined the Femme Collective, a female empowerment collective showcasing work around Philadelphia as part of the annual Fringe Festival and various performances throughout the year. There, she debuted professional works that combine her passions of performance with mental health advocacy. Today she continues to balance her work as a therapist and educator, providing safe spaces in the studio for all students to feel welcome and accepted. Her hope is that all her students join, engage and leave each class feeling inspired to connect to their craft and explore their creativity!
