Momentum Dance Ensemble

  • Company founded in 2003 by Stephanie Moss and became a nonprofit organization in 2012
  • Served by a volunteer Board of Directors and part-time staff
  • 400-500 students enrolled annually
  • Small group classes or private lessons available
  • Ballet, Tap, Irish, Hip Hop, Contemporary/Modern, Jazz, Ballroom, Creative Movement, Musical Theatre
  • Divided into 4 levels: lower level, middle level, upper level, and teen-adult program
  • Private, separate dance studios equipped with professional sprung floors
  • Twice yearly, annual dance performances (winter and late spring)
  • Private lessons or small group music classes in private, insulated music studios
  • Voice, instrument, or musical theatre
  • Annual music recitals
  • Current leadership team: Tara Brinker-Cullen, Martha Ritter and Megan Van Cotthem
  • Dance and music academy teachers are university-trained
  • Annual registration required; tuition is due monthly

  • Partial and full scholarships available to children in need
  • Conveniently scheduled classes tailored for a home school schedule

  • Dance and music classes available to fulfill PE and music requirements
  • Dance performances are held at the Performing Arts Center in Burien (Highline High School) and other venues in the local area
  • Winter Performances held in December
  • Season Finale Performances for all dance classes are held in June

  • Professional photographs and DVDs will be available for purchase

Our Goals and Objectives:
It is our goal to cultivate life-long advocates of the arts by providing:
• High-quality music and dance instruction
• Exceptional, diverse and family-friendly programming
• Means to reduce barriers to involvement in the arts (make arts accessible to individuals of all socio/economic backgrounds)
• Outreach to inspire and enrich our local communities
